What is CBD vaping?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a compound found in hemp. Legal UK CBD products are made so they do not produce a THC-style high.
CBD vaping means heating a liquid made for inhalation until it becomes vapour. That liquid is usually called:
- CBD vape juice
- CBD e-liquid
- CBD vape liquid
- a CBD pod or cartridge
It is not the same as a CBD tincture or oil dropper. Oral oils often use MCT or hemp seed oil. Those oils are for swallowing, not for a vape coil. A CBD vape liquid uses a PG and VG base so it can be heated in a device.

How does CBD vaping work?
You take a puff. The coil heats the liquid. Vapour is inhaled.
Some people compare this with drops or edibles because the route is different (lungs rather than the digestive system). That is a description of how the product is used. It is not a claim that vaping is more effective, healthier or better for you.
What is in CBD vape juice?
A typical UK CBD e-liquid contains:
- CBD extract (often isolate or a compliant full or broad spectrum formula)
- Propylene glycol (PG)
- Vegetable glycerine (VG)
- Flavourings
- Terpenes, often inspired by cannabis strains

A few years ago, some illicit vape products were linked to vitamin E acetate. That was not “all vaping”, and it does not mean every CBD vape is the same. It is a reason to buy a product that is formulated as e-liquid, from a named brand, with a test report.

Is CBD vaping legal in the UK?
CBD vapes can be sold in the UK when they meet the rules. In simple terms:
- The CBD should be hemp-derived
- Controlled cannabinoids such as THC must stay within the UK limit (commonly discussed as no more than 1mg per container)
- The product must not be sold as a medicine or with medical claims
- It is for adults aged 18+
- Devices and liquids also sit under UK vaping product rules, including tank and pod size limits
Inhaled CBD products are treated under vaping rules. They are not the same as food supplements. Oils, gummies and drinks sit under different food rules.

How to choose a CBD vape
1. Check it is made for vaping
The label should say e-liquid, vape liquid or pod kit. If it only says “CBD oil”, do not vape it.
2. Read the strength
Strength is usually listed as mg of CBD per bottle, pod or ml. A 1000mg / 30ml bottle is used differently from a 1000mg / 1ml pod. If you are new, start with fewer puffs and wait before taking more. That is practical advice on use, not a dosage or health recommendation.
3. Decide on format

- Pre-filled CBD vape kit: simple and rechargeable, with battery and pod in one pack
- Replacement pods and mods: spare pods or a replacement battery/mod when your current kit runs out or needs swapping

4. Look at flavour and terpenes
